Google+ is looking to climb to the top of social media marketing tools.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that the SEOs realized that Facebook Fan pages were an important part of internet marketing. Twitter accounts are also the norm and now, Google+.

It seems inevitable that Google+ will equal Facebook in users when considering the power of having a search engine and YouTube in their arsenal of service integration. Users who are signed into their Google accounts and make searches on Google get customized results from Google according to their and their friend’s preferences. This should result in more focused marketing but will it narrow the search results for the consumer and all but eliminate accidental discoveries?

It’s impossible to ignore the influence of Google on the internet and right now I’m just hoping for some tweaks from Google+ such as an app to be able to autopost Facebook posts on Google+ but Google+ does not allow any third-party access of its API. It’s an evolving landscape and staying informed about new marketing opportunities is part of the job. As much as I like having a variety of options, I hope that in a few years I won’t be posting on a dozen social media accounts!

Online marketing, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, social media and reviews.
