The Product: Oak Bay Marine Group, a company with fishing resorts, tourist attractions, restaurants, and marinas in British Columbia, Oregon, and the Bahamas.
The Mission: Use search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) ad campaigns to increase traffic to the company’s website.
It wasn’t a cold call, or advertising campaign that brought Leif Jason to the attention of Alex Dunae, Oak Bay Marine Group’s marketing manager. Instead, it was Mastermynde’s successful track record of satisfied clients that prompted him to see how the company could help Oak Bay Marine Group (OBMG).
“I found out about Leif through word of mouth,” says Dunae. “His name just kept popping up. I figured we may as well give him a try.”
From the Bahamas to British Columbia
The association between the two companies began with a test project, working on a site review and SEO for OBMG’s Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort on Long Island in the South Bahamas. Success with that project led to additional work for Mastermynde, taking on similar work for the BC-based fishing resorts.
“With the BC resorts it was all bringing them up to a base quality level,” notes Dunae. “Now that those things are resolved we are able to try new things, look for more advanced strategies and tactics to build our presence.”
Delivering on the Details
Dunae says managing and tracking the traffic to the BC sections of the website has grown more polished with Mastermynde handling SEO.
“We’re a small marketing department. His (Jason’s) ability to focus on the details and search marketing perspective is helpful. He’s been consistent in his delivery and predictable in the best sense of the world. We have high hopes and Leif has lived up to our expectations.”
